Last day of the show

October 18, 2009

Just a quick note. The weekend is over, the show is done and everyone has packed up and gone home. I’m exhausted  – as I’m sure many of the other artists are. Many thanks to Karlijn for all her help, thanks to everyone who stopped by and  visited, and to those who purchased something.

Thankfully today was cooler than yesterday’s 100f weather and fan made a huge difference. Thanks Geraint for bringing .

Yes… time to do some housework and hit some “hot spots” that have grown while I was making jewelry. Making quilts takes longer and somehow isn’t as stressful. what I forgot was 50 pairs of earrings was 100 earrings… Still I got to watch the first season of Fringe… do you get it?

    No, what is it?
Saw a gorgeous red quilt on a new english show that I think is called Homemade. Kirsty Allsop who normally runs around looking for suitable houses for people to buy, has bought a rundown house in Devon that she wants to furnish from homemade things, so she learns how to knit, goes to a blacksmith and makes her own poker for the fire, etc. She went to Kaffe Fassett’s house – the guy who has been making brilliant knitted things for years – and there was the most beautiful patchwork quilt in various, supposedly clashing shades of red. I lusted after it in a big way!!
