My first attempt at knitted socks

January 15, 2010

I found the pattern on Raverly. The sock pattern was called “Elinor’s “Your Feet Are Cold” Bedsocks” from Karen at I used one ball of alpaca yarn, from Knitpicks, so the pattern isn’t that clear, but her pattern was easy to follow.

I like the way the socks were knitted from the toe up, so they weren’t tight around the calf and Karen’s instructions were clear.

I knitted them while I was home in the cold and several days I would have happily worn them as mitts my hands were so cold. They were a present for my Step-mum Sue so I left them with her and hope that’s she’s benefiting from their warmth in the freezing winter in the UK.
