Some new earrings and bracelets for Spring

February 26, 2010

Spring is almost here and its time to think about making some new earrings and bracelets. Downtown Redlands is arranging monthly Friday Night Girl’s Night Out … SHOPPING, with stores opening late. The Redlands Art Association opened its doors for one of those nights before Christmas and it has decided to try it again this month and TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT!

I volunteered to help and take in some additional jewelry. So here are some new earrings and bracelets.

Shell circles & rectangles, cream seed beads with Turquoise chips.

I love these earrings, the stacks of chips remind me of the desert. It makes me want to go and camp out there over Spring break in a few weeks. ($22 pair)

Left to right: Shell with blue glass beads, a small clear glass beads. Circular & rectangular shell with Labradorite & Jet beads & small glass beads. ($22 pair)

The blue beads and the Labradorite all twinkle in the light.

Left: Shell with cream,($27) (right:) pale pink freshwater pearls & small glass beads ($25).

The left pair of earrings has 2 handmade sterling silver ear wires from Atlantis Glass and Bead, in Victorville, CA. They sell individual hand crafted ear wires and offer sample packs as well. Some of their wires are amazing. The pink earrings have regular ear wires. I am seriously thinking of using more of Atlantis Glass and Bead ear wires. I like the product, I know they are more expensive per pair, but as my son Will commented “You’re supporting local people Mum.” Interesting thought from a 15 year old.

1. Large orange shell buttons stacked with grey flower & pale blue shell buttons with freshwater cream pearls. Small painted white shell buttons with purple freshwater pearls.

2. Assorted stacked shell buttons with grey freshwater pearls.

3. White plastic buttons stacked with smaller vintage yellow and green buttons finished with glass beads, green heart button on the end with a yellow button and glass beads.

4. Large pale green shell buttons stacked with grey shell flower & pale blue buttons finished with cream pearls. Small orange buttons with glass beads mounted in metal casing (these really catch the light.)

I love them all.
