April Fool…

April 1, 2010

Well nothing really exciting happened here today thank goodness!

Instead its time for the April “to do list.”

Order bracelet blanks

make 20 bracelets

make some more stud earrings

business cards

make postcards with Spring show dates

collect Red Dirt poster/postcards distribute

Spring clean (urgent friend coming to stay)

plant out the veggies

Studios space

silk tie purses

Write a demo bio for the RAA newsletter

Sort out canvas bags for RAA –

I think that really is enough this month I am doing 3 shows at the end of the month:

Saturday 17th – (morning only) Orange Muffin Festival

Sunday 18th    – (morning only) Fund raiser for Mother’s Day prison bus trip

Saturday 24th – Red Dirt (which clashes with Matt’s jazz group pancake breakfast)

and the beginning of May brings 2 shows

Saturday & Sunday 1st & 2nd “Treasures” in Riverside

Saturday & Sunday 8th& 9th “Art in the Park” – Smiley Park in downtown Redlands.

I think that “making” will be high on the list in between the Spring cleaning and planting.

And the picture for the week – my Californian Poppies which have gone wild in the front garden bed (pink Sweet William’s snucked in!). This is the plant I photographed with 4 blooms, now some of the other self seeded plants are just starting to bloom its a wonderful sight and I no longer have to be disappointed at the California Poppy Reserve where I always seemed to miss them blooming, or there wasn’t enough rain, or it was too windy and they were all closed… I’ll enjoy mine at home in future.

Happy Easter everyone.

Looks like you’ve got a busy month ahead of you, girl! Maybe I need to start making — and publishing — a ToDo list to keep me focused. I love lists, so this may be something I need to do!

Thanks for the lovely picture. I live up in the desert now, and there just aren’t a lot of flowering things here, so I have to enjoy other people’s plants!

Thanks Cindy… its only hte tip of the iceberg really what with the kids activities but it does try and keep me focused on something. Surely you ahve flowers this year after the rain? Look forward to see you soon, hope all is well. Thanks Liz

Well, the wild plum tree in our backyard is blooming, but that’s about it up here. I don’t know if it’s not the right time for desert flowers, or if we’re in the wrong location for them, but there’s nada. Most people don’t even plant flowers here, either. In fact, our back yard — and most of our front yard — is just gravel. But I come to Redlands every week or so and get my fill of color and beauty there!

Hope to see you soon, too. I always enjoy your company 🙂

Thanks Cindy, At least you have the plum trees… try growing some Californian poppies. They self seeded for the first time and this year they’ve gone wild. I have at least a dozen plants and half of them are blooming!

Take care, hope all’s going well in the desert liz
